English: This is a help for our EU customers,

sending money to RDE Germany, requesting a very low (transfer-) fee.
As we got told by our German Bank here in Wiesbaden and other Frankfurt banks, there is a new EU law (or serious instruction) since July 2003.
It is no more a recommendation only, ist is current EU law and valid EU law !!
Its called "SEPA - Single European Payment Area"

and it did start in July 2003 in and it is valid for all EU states with no exception. We did check this with Austria, Spain, Portugal and UK. It works fine. And it is cheap, as a simple domestic wire transfer.
If you pay by wire transfer, you must address IBAN plus SWIFT / BIC (inside EU) !!
This is very important.
(Some international banks with a subsidary in Frankfurt / Germany (like the HSBC Bank plc) need to have our German 8 digit bank (BLZ) number ! and no IBAN code)
Take care and watch your bank. It´s your money.

Its a mess that many smaller EU banks did not recognize what has changed in 2003. There are two key words for all discussions at the counter with any bank employee :
"SEPA - Single European Payment Area" and "cross-border credit transfers"
You should remember this if they want to sell (charge you) a 15.- pound transfer fee. The EU banks are instructed by EU law to only charge you the same fee as a domestic transfer inside your land. (And this is very low.)
